For the longest time, the word father was just rotting in my mouth, and the word dad was something I'd already mourned.
I was barely ten when I started writing that I was Magni Bronzebeard's adopted daughter. Funny, I know.
Well, Magni ended up showing up, and he was the dad I never had, and for once in my life, I was proud to call someone that. Not because he could somehow make the past disappear, not because he had all the answers, but because he was there, and whenever I reached for that word, he was there to answer it.
Even if he keeps digging fucking holes in the Base.
Magni saw everything; from the little girl with black hair who wanted to be a warlock to the adult with an inner world the damn size of Azeroth. Magni saw everything and never left. He was there when the little girl was lost, and there when the adult found herself a little too close to the edge, wondering what life was supposed to mean. He was there through all the things I couldn't name, through the things I could barely look at, through the years when I was growing into someone neither of us could have imagined back then.
And somehow, after all those years, I still get to be his little girl.
Magni, the man of honor, the man of truth, the man made by the mountains themselves, the one who spent his life building kingdoms and somehow found room for one lost little girl.
I love you, Dad.
